How ready is your network?

You know the saying, “It’s not what you know, but who you know?” Well, I think in times like these, it holds a lot more weight than normal. In a job market where open jobs are getting hundreds (or thousands!) of job applicants, having a connection with the company where you’re applying, can give you an essential edge.

Even if you’re not currently looking for a position, it’s always a good idea to have a group of contacts that you can draw upon in the event you find yourself needing a position, or to help you in your current position. Your network can provide you with sales leads, cutting edge intel or priceless advice on tough issues.

A company called UpMo has put together a test to see how ready your network is. It will tell you where you can improve, and give you suggestions for fixing the gaps.
